3 Movies of Note

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
One of the first movies of the year that I've seen. It was actually longer than I've expected and incredibly profound. I'll have to say that this would be one of the few rare movies that made me cry a lot.

All good things come to an end. I'd never thought that I would come across this old saying again. This movie has rekindled old memories of the past, way back when
my own mother cared for me as a foolish child. Now I think I'll be able to answer those slum book questions like what movie moved you so much. I guess it would be this one. Only thing that sucked is that I watched this in an SM theater. Recently SM theaters (with the exception of the I-max Theaters), have sucked big time.

Bedtime Stories
It has been a while since I've watched a movie with my brother so I treated him out the following week. Knowing my bro, he had quite a funny bone so we watched this extremely funny movie from one of our favorite comedy actors, Adam Sandler. Of all his movies, this gave me a stomach ache, because of all the laughing. My brother couldn't contain his laughing either when Sandler was doing the "bee" talk. People in the theater were also going crazy with his antics so that sums it up being a great movie.

I've noticed though that Adam sandler has a "trend" when he comes out with movies. First he'll release a title more suited to adults, like Don't Mess With The Zohan, then he'll come out with something like this, Bedtime Stories. Watched this at an SM theater too so it sucked a bit again. I should avoid watching at SM theaters, you think I'd learn from my previous endeavor. Sheesh...

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans
Finally, I've seen the prologue to the two previous Underworld movies. This had all the action the previous two offered but on a different time. This time it happened during the medevial era. All I can say is tha Sonja is hawt, but Selena is hotter. Anyway, those bright blue eyes were mezmerizing. It would be cool to have eyes like those. This is one movie where you seriously won't think of Vampires as blood crazed creatures but the representatives of finesse and grace of the dark world.

This time I've watched this at a THX cinema at Ayala in Glorietta 4. I'm glad to see they still have the same ambience like they did years ago when I last went there. There was also a promo that I would wanted to have. If you have 4 tickets you are entitled to a raffle thing and the prizes are Underworld DVDs and movie posters! Too bad I was alone. Sigh...

Lack of sleep and thereof...

Just woke up around 11:30 AM today. Missed church as well. It was one of those days yesterday I suppose. There are times when out of the blue my thinking kicks in. Its a bad habit that I've tried to avoid but I guess I can't change that overnight. I couldn't sleep a wink until 5 AM. Actually, throughout the whole day yesterday I began thinking as soon as I woke up and fixed some of my papers for some jobs. As always I was asking myself what the hell was I doing. Why am I on this Earth? Why do I do what I do?

The answer came simple. Too simple that I don't know how to proceed. I was re-watching Code Geass R1. An Anime series that had become pending over a year and a half ago. I never continued it because I got pre-occupied with something else. I never thought that an answer would be in one of the episodes. Mao... one of the villans. He was so caught up and infatuated with C.C. that he lost the purpose in his own life. His drive was there but it was the wrong way. In the end he was bested bey Lelouch. He was bested because he was too confident of what he could do. He was bested because he thought that what he knew could protect him forever. And he was bested because while though doing action, he was an optimist at heart. I looked at myself at the mirror and I realized how similar I was to him.

If I do not change. I will destroy myself. I need to let go...

Passing by

Its a real breather to see a place you've been to. A few days ago I passed by the OBAP office to grab my long awaited final check. I went to the bank to deposit and on my way, I passed by a little place that I had fond memories of.

I'm glad I got to visit it again, though I'm sad that I might not be able to see it too often anymore. It's a good thing I took this picture though. It's gonna be one for the scrapbooks.

Old school casual

I'm playing Pangya again, but this time on the Albatross 18 server (aka Pangya Int'l). All because of the release of Pangya Portable for the PSP. This game brought back a lot of memories. There is also something else that made me play this game and I can't believe its gone full circle since then.

After a month of pestering Jarjar has finally got my check approved. All need to do now is go back to the office to kill him pick up the check and get it encashed. After which I finally get to pay some bills and finally buy some stuff I should have gotten during the Christmas season. I'll be passing by there on Thursday.

TeleTech is really giving me a tough time. They want me to wait until all the agent slots are filled because that's the priority for them right now. The HR person even asked me if I wanted to be an agent. Hell no! I'm not starting from zero again. I've been a supervisor in a previous call center and a supervisor (of sorts) when I was at Outblaze. There is no way they are placing me in rank and file again. I have to wait until the 10th - 15th for the IT opennings.

I've finally attained the Burnout Paradise License and a Gold Trophy for PSN! It took a lot of grinding though. What the? Did I just say that a driving game feels like an MMO?

With all the crap outta the way...

... I can finally update my blog! So much for hoping to update before 2008 ended. I was pretty much hooked up with many activities. Had to plan for the Youth Ministry's year end outing. Had to go to Enchanted Kingdom since my Step-Aunt gave us free tickets (she works there as a manager of the food court). And finally, our yearly tradition, on January 1 we have a grand family reunion. And now after all that, I get my first fever of the year lol. Lack of sleep plus the unusual cold weather has somehow awoken my dormant colds and gave me a bit of a soar throat. Anyway, I'm feeling better now.

And here's a video of the Fireworks display I took during New Year's at SM Mall of Asia.

I'd like to keep this post short as much as possible because I tend to go off on many tangents when I blog so for starters. My resolutions are to first find a fraking JOB! Yes! I'm still jobless thanks to TeleTech who has been keeping me waiting. Anyway, if I still don't get called to my final interview I'll be taking up that offer at Dell or Convergys. Next, to blog at least 3 times a week. I've noticed in the past that I only blog when I want to and end up missing writing down important stuff.

The simple 2008 recap:
1. Resigned from Outblaze Asia Pacific.
2. It was a really good gaming year for the PS3 with exclusives like Metal Gear Solid 4, Valkyria Chronicles, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, Wipeout HD and the launch of Home.
3. The year of my depression. I'll go. It's a little late, but I'll go to where you are, too.

So, I'm looking forward to this year and what it brings. May God bless us all and keep an eye on us not only for this year but for the years to come as we still walk this Earth.
